This week Trent came over to my house to briefly work on some company tasks. Not even 10 minutes had passed when another friend unexpectedly showed up. This other friend opened up about an unsuccessful suicide attempt that occured just 48 hours earlier. Trent stopped his work on
Trent sounds like an amazing person. There are so many people out there who do not even acknowledge depression is a serious disease that so many struggle with. And clearly this 3rd guest who was fortunately unsuccessful at his suicide attempt needed time and attention. Thankfully Trent was there. And I am sure you listened and cared, which matters. Thanks for sharing this story. Tell Trent he embodies one of my favorite quotes, “Be the person you want to meet.”
I appreciate the vulnerability of those who seem to have success and everything we deem as "having it all". I wish more would share their thoughts or attempts at suicide. I have been through this with my daughter. I find it helpful for me to understand her through the lens of others going through the situation. I also find it helpful for her to see she is not alone and no matter what we have or the events that take place, it is a dragon to be reckoned with in her life and those who deal with this disease.
I met Trent nearly 20 years ago when I was running a networking group. He was a great man then, and continues to be today. I, too, appreciate people who put other people ahead of everything else and are able to step into their worlds and connect from within their paradigms – no matter their status or state. Thanks for sharing this, Scott!
Helping Humankind is always better that 10X

💯
Not surprising, and very cool. We’re all lucky to know Trent.
