Epic observations and honesty my friend… All apologies live and unplugged was Kurt’s swan song, he wanted people to feel the pain in his gut and head. Thanks for sharing (as always)
Depression has been a constant in my life since I was about 8.
It wasn’t until about 3 years ago when I started working in a focused way with spiritually advanced teachers who are decades into the inner-work, that I learned what depression is.
It is repressed rage.
And so, I began the grueling process of learning how to express my rage in healthy ways. At men’s retreats, some by Sacred Sons, others I co-facilitated, we used various practices to make contact with the anger and then express it.
It’s not easy. It requires loosening a lot of programs, and basically acting exactly opposite to societal indoctrination.
Sometimes that means violating norms; grunting, or growling, for example.
Other times it means recapitulating memories that are so painful to see, that it requires plant medicines to loosen the ego’s grip.
Other times, it means feeling the rawness of sensation that we have been hiding in the body since the first time we were trained to stop the rage.
But I’ve since seen that it is curable.
If you’re interested, I highly recommend Kiloby.com as a somatic inquiry guide. He has a community and several practitioners who are trained in helping people get in touch with their repressed emotions, including anger.

Also, the 3/4 aspect ratio… many of our contemporaries shrug and say WTF
Beautiful share, Scott.
