I had the best time putting Kirk Ouimet and Brandon Fugal on stage and have them debate Aliens and AI.
This debate was held 2 weeks ago at UVU Entrepreneurship Institute and is the length of a movie, so I expect that most people would rather watch Netflix. But, if you have the curiosity about what is about to happen with our universe, this is raw video feed from two minds who spend most of their time asking this question.
I would love to tell you where the highlights are, but the whole conversation is one to just digest if you get the time…maybe while driving even. I will tell you the ending if you want. They both believe aliens and AI are already here. Brandon thinks we are in the Matrix. Kirk thinks we are part of Panspermia. Both think we can have a future that could be bright.
However the highlight for me is when Kirk said we are about to hatch a giant chicken…and then the audience used Dall-E to design that very moment:

The great folks at UVU who hosted enjoyed the outcome and want to have me bring many more people to debate and do these discussions.
So here is what I want to ask you readers. Who should I get on stage, and what positions should we debate?
I really want to do panels where there is disagreement that can lead to better understanding.
I think this will be a monthly event if we can bring the right people and of course some pizza.
Next one I want to do would be about Jesus Christ, since everyone seems to have a ton of knowledge about him and he died roughly 1990 years ago, and his 2000 year day of since his death is coming up in our lifetime.
Maybe we do Elon Musk too. Maybe we debate free speech or EV cars. So much to talk about.
I have some good stuff coming over next few weeks if I can get myself into the right mindset to say what I need to say.
See you tomrrow

For your debate on Jesus Christ, speaking strictly, on the historicity of his life, there’s probably nobody better in the world than Bart D. Ehrman, of “Misquoting Jesus” acclaim. If you can get him, that would be great. He doesn’t believe in the divinity of Jesus Christ though, so you could probably find somebody to take that other side. I’d recommend Tad Callister, perhaps, who wrote the seminal work, “The Infinite Atonement”, if you’d like for a lively debate, with some really good doctoral level work on both sides, backing things up. And from what I have seen, both are great speakers, orators and debaters. Tad was a lawyer in his prior life. And Bart is one of the world’s leading authorities on the Bible and Jesus Christ, and a professor at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
big fan of a monthly event! I will definitely be attending!
