Think of all the views you have ever seen with your naked eyes. You have seen so much of this world. So many days have passed with different patterns of light, clouds, sun, rain, stars. Is there a view that has been burned into your memory that is glorious beyond all others? Do you seek that view often? Can you go there in your mind when necessary?
My transformational view that is burned into my very soul is from the mountains of Switzerland. I don’t live there, so I need I look for fragments of that view here in Utah. The valley I live in right now was settled by Swiss immigrants and it has some similarities to the beauty of the Alps. I have a home office that has panoramic views of these mountains. I struggle to finish these emails when I am typing in this office because I start to stare at the clouds for 10 minutes at a time. My thoughts go everywhere, just like I feel they should.
Natural views that take our attention away from our smaller thoughts are medicinal and should be sought after like you would a good night’s sleep and 8 glasses of water each day. I am making time for this view like never before.
So if you don’t mind, tell me about your favorite view in comments or in a reply. Take me to your happy place.

I hope to visit the village of Fluckigen, high above Durrenroth in Switzerland. Our surname Fluckiger is geographic to the Alps. A Fluckiger homestead still stands in this region.
The tidal waters of coastal South Carolina, with the endless Atlantic beyond, captivated me so thoroughly that I moved here permanently almost 20 years ago. The Holy City Charleston and the surrounding beach towns still bring those fond feelings of nostalgia.
