I Am Going to Get Super High to Start Off the Year!
I’m on a plane writing this as I embark to Ecuador to climb a mountain with all my brothers, sister, parents, and a few other alpinists.
My old man, Greg Paul, is kind of a freak when it comes to summiting peaks. He dragged me to several big mountains as a kid. The first was Rainer, and then all the way to Russia to climb Mt. Elbrus when I was just 16 in 1996.
He went on to climb many of the highest peaks in the world with 3 attempts at Everest and in May of 2016, he got to the top. He was the first to do so with two knee replacements. He is ancient…like 67 right now! He can still do more pull-ups than all of his 5 kids combined.
If you are ever in Salt Lake, Houston, or Seattle you can check out his project of the last 15 years called Momentum Climbing Gyms.
Next week I will share more if we make it to the top of Cotopaxi in Ecuador.
Just 10 push-ups a day… I still can’t do it.
That was my last year's resolution. Lasted a day.
Goals have never been my forte. I think I’ve tried every method to keep a habit.
So far all that has stuck is brushing my teeth 2x day and posting to social media once a day.
The social media thing is my live journal and I feel that what my mind is thinking and my heart is feeling is always useful for another human out there reading my content.
If you haven’t met Natalie Paul in real life or on LinkedIn, you should.
She is an alien from another planet that was trained to keep me safe on planet earth. She is always a step ahead of me in seeing what is really happening. The funny thing is that she doesn’t read anything I write or post. She doesn’t use social media but once a month maybe. It’s not her goal, she just doesn’t even remember her passwords to log on.
But she is a step ahead because she can see clearly what is going on with people around her and knows how to guide them through rough patches. 2021 was her hardest year-to-date with health problems for both her and her father. Mental and physical health for our entire family has been challenging, but she navigates it with precision and love.
She is trying so hard to get her startup off the ground. If you were to pick the most difficult startup in the world where there is tons of logistics and very little margin for error it would be Dree.com, which is a peer-to-peer laundry service. Give it a try if you are in Utah!
And if you haven’t seen this video I did with them check it out.
This is our last YouTube video of Season 1 of Life With Scott. James from Malta will be coming to the USA in a few months to film season 2.
If you want to meet up with me and Derek come to Cryptopia in 2 weeks. Tickets are almost out!
Folks, this is my bit for this week. See you next week when I get down the mountain, hopefully.
Arrivederci!
