I’ve been in startups for 20 years. I feel like I have a pulse on trends, especially in business and tech. I’ve made my career around spotting those trends.
Health and Wellness is where all the excitement is right now.
I was at the office (more like a cool clubhouse) of the Vivint Founder, Todd Peterson, discussing what we are doing in the health space with AI. He went on to mention massive breakthroughs in companies he is helping that fight inflammation. This is something my wife will really love to help with RA that she has had for 15 years.
As I was leaving another company was going up stairs to discuss with Todd their company that helps employers reduce insurance costs and give better care to their employees. I feel like I am hearing great ideas for our healthcare system and new medicines every single day. Funding is going to companies that are fixing the evident problems that exist in this space.
I have often talked to people about how we have more information about our cars than we do our own bodies. We have readouts and reminders to get things done when fluids get too low or pressure on tires is off balance. They hook in a device to the OBD2 port and the mechanic can read everything about our car. I take my body to the local clinic, and I get WAY less data then I do about my car.
Guess what I want? More data, more insights, more health.
I see new approaches to getting this data everyday, many using AI. I am doing similar things at Phi. I don’t feel like anybody working on health is competition to worry about, because if anyone wins in the health space, humans win.
We are going to figure out health, affordable health, backed by personalized data that your body produces with each heartbeat and breath. This should be the greatest race the world has ever seen. It is the opposite of arms race for weapons that take life, but a friendly health race for giving life. We should be competing heavily with each other to add healthy years to our lifespan.
Let me know if you are in this race and how we can partner to make sure you win and we win.
Tried MidJourney today for the image. Prompt was a “doctors sharing medicine on the floor of Wall Street”. Why MidJourny thinks all doctors and people on wall street are white old men is something else to discuss.
We are in this race…
The body is a bio computer. Containing layers upon layers of biological coding. We can influence the outcomes by understanding the processes and systems involved. It is all interconnected. AMIT is an attempt to define the root cause of dis-ease or dysfunction rather than treating symptoms. The future of sports medicine and healthcare.
