Watching this movie about Bob Dylan gave me same feeling I had when I watch Forrest Gump in the early 90s. Music and concerts would comment on war a lot. Maybe it was the nature of war back then.
I wake up to news about Russia and Ukraine and other wars and political events, and celebrities and musicians have things to say, but the music feels different. This is just my observation, but lyrics of Dylan don’t seem to have their equal among today’s musicians commenting on world events.
I might be missing the voices saying the words and writing the lyrics that make us think about the nature of our times. Memorial Day is now and I am memorializing both the men and women who fought from every country in the world, and the men and women who fought against the fighting. All should be remembered.
